🌍 Welcome to Eraedal: The Tri-System Synthesis

Eraedal is a world of ancient, cyclical trauma, rigid geographic boundaries, and highly volatile, modern political upheaval. It represents a reality where mortal bloodlines build towering empires over the sealed horrors of a previous cosmic age, oblivious (or indifferent) to the fact that the very ground they walk on is a cage.
🏛️ The Three Pillars of Reality
To understand Eraedal, one must understand the three distinct cosmic forces that forged its current state:

1. The Physical Shell (Palladium Geography)
The world’s layout, regions, and regional politics are drawn explicitly from the Palladium Fantasy map. The Western Empire remains the decaying, blood-soaked crown of civilization, with West Kighfalton serving as its fully developed, concrete-paved heartland. Cities like Caer Itom are massive, urban sprawls built around rigid class divides, sprawling sewer networks plagued by Ratlings, and competitive regional noble houses (Itomas, Paaslaan, Milaszc). The rivers, mountain ranges (Koerdian), and sea lanes are physically identical to Palladium lore, dictating travel times, trade routes, and military bottlenecks.
2. The Ancient Bones (Praemal Lore)
While the surface politics look like Palladium, the metaphysical history belongs to Monte Cook’s Praemal.
-
The “Old Ones” of Palladium are structurally fused with the Galchutt—the cosmic lords of ultimate entropy. They do not merely sleep; they are imprisoned deep within the planet’s core, and their foul, dreaming corruption leaks upward into the underbelly of the world’s cities.
-
Historical events like the Great Cataclysm and the creation of reality-warping magical anchors mirror the lore of Praemal. The world itself is a prison or a crucible, where high-level magical orders (like the Inverted Pyramid or the Eraedal Wizards’ Guild) wield reality-bending spells (like rifting entire city districts into the sky) to keep themselves separate from the rot of the world below.
3. The Active Pulse (Paizo/Pathfinder Mechanics & Entities)
When a mortal swings a sword, casts a spell, or kneels to pray, they are using the rule laws and divine network of Paizo.
-
The Gods: The traditional Western Empire pantheon is replaced or syncretized with the Golarion Pantheon. Clerics in Caer Itom pray to Iomedae for justice, Abadar to protect the Imperial Mint, Asmodeus to maintain the rigid slave contracts, or Lamashtu down in the dark, monster-infested sewers.
-
The Rules: All classes, ancestries, feats, and monsters use Pathfinder rules. A Wolfen is modeled with custom ancestry rules or as an optimized Beastkin/Gnoll variant; the Free Slave Coalition fights using Pathfinder tactical rules, utilizing martial maneuvers, occult summoners, and divine champions.
