Overview

The Bull and Bear is the designated location in the square for purchasing traditional armor, shields, and heavy protective combat equipment. Taking up a prominent corner of the plaza, the building is a massive, soot-stained stone blockhouse that operates as both a retail shop and a loud, clanging armory. Inside, the walls are lined with everything from supple leather buff coats and reinforced chainmail vests to pristine suits of polished steel plate armor and heavy tower shields.

Prominent Personalities

  • Hirus Feek & Sholum Feek: The two brother blacksmiths who own and operate the armory. They do not forge anything overly fancy, but they are masters of custom-to-order mundane fittings and regularly buy or sell salvaged gear.

  • Iltumar Shon: An overeager young human clerk employed at the shop to tend the front counter, manage sales, and assist customers with armor trade-ins.

The Iron Alliance Partnership

The Bull and Bear’s partnership with Rastor’s Weapons is what keeps it competitive against the massive mass-production industrial foundries of the Guildsman District:

  • The Steel Reciprocity: Hirus and Sholum refuse to sell weapons, strictly honoring their pact with Rastor. If an adventurer walks in looking for a shield-spike or a gauntlet-dagger, Hirus and Sholum sends them directly to Rastor with an armor-smith’s voucher ensuring a priority fitting on their next shield purchase.

  • The Custom Fitting Integration: If a party commissions a custom suit of plate armor from The Bull and Bear, Rastor will personally walk over to evaluate the customer’s weapon reach and fighting style, ensuring the armor’s gauntlets and pauldrons are perfectly articulated to match the player’s weapon traits (such as removing penalties for Agile or Two-Handed weapon switching).
