Overview & Personality

Iltumar Shon is the overeager, star-struck young clerk employed at The Bull and Bear to manage sales, handle trade-ins, and keep the showroom armor polished. He is an intelligent, highly articulate youth with a rapid-fire speaking style, but he suffers from a massive case of dangerous romanticism. Iltumar is completely obsessed with the glamorous mythology of adventuring culture, collecting old heroic pulp chronicles, and cataloging famous delvers. He looks out the front windows at the Delver’s Stair with a desperate, burning longing to be something more than a simple shop boy sorting iron scrap.

The Party’s Relationship: The Rune Negotiator

The party has met Iltumar a few times now, as he has been acting as their direct intermediary for customizing their gear with defensive rune work. Because Iltumar isn’t a master smith himself, he handles the administrative side of the transactions—taking the party’s exact specifications, calculating the costs for magical etching materials, and translating their requests to the Feek brothers in the back.

He treats the party like absolute rock stars. Every time they walk in to negotiate a rune modification, Iltumar is incredibly attentive, leaning over the counter with wide eyes, eagerly asking them details about the monsters they fought to test the runes, or trying to pry rumors out of them about the lower layers of the Dungeon. He is in love with Gona. He will happily work late, double-check ledgers, and actively advocate to Hirus to get the party priority placement in the forge queue just to stay in their good graces.

Physical Appearance

Iltumar is a slender, gangly human youth in his late teens with a mop of unruly brown hair that constantly falls into his eyes. He has sharp, expressive features and dark eyes that dart around nervously whenever Hirus calls his name from the back. To look professional for high-paying customers, he wears a clean, well-fitted green tunic over simple trousers, though his sleeves are usually rolled up to show off forearms that are perpetually smudged with ink and metal polish.
