Overview & Personality

Hirus Feek is the elder of the two brothers who own and operate The Bull and Bear. While his brother Sholum handles the roaring heat of the forge, Hirus is the pragmatic, business-minded public face of the shop. He is a pragmatic, no-nonsense man who understands that in a city surrounded by a lethal underground dungeon, good armor isn’t a luxury—it’s a basic requirement to see tomorrow’s sunrise.

Hirus speaks in a calm, gravelly baritone and treats adventurers with a dry, professional respect. He handles the math, negotiates material costs with traveling caravans, and meticulously inspects every plate-seam and leather strap before it leaves the blockhouse. While he can appear tightly wound or overly bureaucratic, his care stems from a deep burden of responsibility; he genuinely hates seeing young, enthusiastic delvers march down the Delver’s Stair only to return a week later in a pine box destined for the Necropolis.

Physical Appearance

Hirus is a broad, barrel-chested human, though his frame is leaner and more weathered than his massive brother’s. He has short, receding steel-gray hair and a thick, neatly trimmed beard. He typically wears heavy wool shirts under a pristine, stiff leather apron that features countless specialized pockets holding charcoal pencils, measuring tapes, and calculating ledgers. A massive ring of heavy iron vault keys hangs permanently from his belt, clanging rhythmically against his hip as he walks.
